Accompany an Older Adult to a Party or Event
Time spent out of the house, surrounded by friends and celebration, is transformative for our older friends! And our volunteers make it possible, providing safe and comfortable transportation to and from Little Brothers’ parties or events by driving their own vehicles or accompanying an LBFE older adult in a taxi or rideshare. First, get to know each other during the ride. Then share conversation and lunch, and dance to live music before dropping your new older friend back off at home. 5 hours
Vacation Drop Off and Pickup
From June through September, LBFE older adults escape the city for three-night, four-day getaways to Audrey’s House to kick back and enjoy.
Pick older adults up from home on Monday mornings and drop them off at LBFE at 355 N. Ashland to depart for adventure and relaxation. Or pick returning older adults up at LBFE on Thursday afternoon to drop them off at home and hear about their vacation tales and memories. 2 hours
Intergenerational Events
Help facilitate connections between older adults and students from kindergarten to college. Provide transportation to and from an intergenerational event. Older adults get to share their life experiences and engage in collaborative or new activities, and each person learns from each other, strengthening sense of community. 4 hours
