Social Clubs
We believe in the importance of cultivating new skills and maintaining hobbies throughout life. This keeps our elders connected to their interests and passions, as well as each other.
Coffee Club

Every Thursday morning from 9 to 11am, elders and volunteers gather in our Herrera Family Café to share conversation and fellowship over coffee and breakfast. Week after week, whatever the weather may be, Coffee Club brings elders out of the house to be with friends. And it’s also a great opportunity for our elders to connect with volunteers of all ages from the community.

Brain Fitness

The Lloyd Walding Brain Fitness Center offers learning opportunities and computer skills practice to keep the mind sharp! Volunteers are available to assist elders with any computer-related questions they may have. And listening to music, working online puzzles and doing cognitive-function quizzes are popular pastimes. The LWBFC is open Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to 2pm.
Creative Café

Once a month, volunteers join elders to create arts and crafts projects for upcoming holidays or to mark the season. Afterward, elders enjoy lunch and conversation together.
Board Game Club

LBFE’s newest club invites card and board game enthusiasts to spend an afternoon engaged with friends. The Board Game Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month.
Movie Club
Once a month, elders get together to watch a favorite old film on our cozy 4th floor. Afterward, elders enjoy lunch and conversation together.
