Celebrating our incredible volunteers
Happy National Volunteer Week!
Without dedicated, generous volunteers like you, we simply would not be able to do our work. Year-round, year after year, we’re able to bring meaningful connection to lonely, isolated elders across Chicago, and it’s all thanks to your friendship and time.
Every day, you remind elders aging without support from friends or family that they are loved and a friend is near. Many members of our Volunteer Services and Program Departments, who have the pleasure of knowing our volunteers well, recorded messages to share Little Brothers’ deep, unending thanks with you.
During the past year, your friendship has meant even more to our elders than any other time in Little Brothers’ 61-year history. We are so grateful for your patience, willingness, flexibility and generosity. Your Phone Visits provide vital conversation. Your letters and cards brighten difficult days. And your contactless deliveries of Food Bags and other essential items, birthday celebration bags, and holiday gifts and meals are warm reminders to our elders that they are not alone.
