This orientation will review our mission and history, staff, elders we serve, and volunteer participation. It will also review tips for engaging with elders and explain volunteer boundaries.

- 4.1Example 1: An elder wants to write the volunteer a check for $5 to pay for gas, or as a thank you.
- 4.2Example 2: An elder is concerned about his estate and asks the volunteers to become the executor.
- 4.3Example 3: The elder is struggling with housing and asks if the volunteer can store their furniture while searching for a new apartment.
- 4.4Example 4: The elder is concerned with bank withdrawals from her joint bank account that she did not approve. She asks the volunteer to call the bank on her behalf to claim fraud.
