Apply for an Internship
Little Brothers offers a variety of internships to develop professional skills while gaining valuable experience in the field of aging. As a Little Brothers’ intern, you’ll help connect Chicago’s isolated, lonely elders with meaningful friendship and essential services, meet lots of new people and make an impact in your community.
All interns receive a small stipend, as well as credit when eligible. Depending on internship, mileage and cell phone reimbursement is also provided.
Volunteer Program Assistant
Grow unique friendships with 25+ Chicago elders while planning outings, providing transportation to events and making in-home visits. A yearlong, full-time (40 hours/week) commitment is required.
Community Engagement
Work with the Director of Volunteer Services and Community Engagement to establish and expand community partnerships.
Summer Visitor Team Leader
Lead a group of five Summer Visiting interns in making special visits and bringing vacation-like experiences to elders in Chicago.
Summer Visitor
Spend June through August helping Chicago’s elders make memories with friends and the very most of summer in the city.
Social Media/Public Relations
Help grow awareness for elder loneliness and Little Brothers’ work across our social media by implementing creative ideas and market research.
Intergenerational Visiting
Respond to the needs of lonely, isolated Chicago elders by planning opportunities to socialize and build friendships.
Vacation Nursing Student
Connect with a group of up to 13 elders, helping out when needed, on a four-day vacation in Batavia, IL.
Summer Evaluation
Help support Little Brothers’ program planning by conducting and documenting person-centered interviews with elders.
